Hello! It's been a while since I've been active in the PTU community due to burnout, but I'm back and itching to get right into the thick of things, so here's a game I want to run for three, possibly four people. An Arduous Endeavour, or just Endeavour for short, is a campaign inspired by the cyberpunk genre, Ghost in the Shell, Attack on Titan, the Anima Metaphysics framework in Game of Throhs and more.
A brief Background Info Document has some details not given in the blurb.

Augmentations
In the world of Anima's End, all beings are made from Anima. Augmentations are inherently tied to a being's Anima, being powered by it through Dream Tech (refer to Background Document for more info on that), so Augmentations have no real drawbacks, and Ghost-types can also be augmented. As a result of this, I'll be using the following alternative for Upgrader's Emergency Reactivation:
Emergency Reactivation
Prerequisites: Upgrader, Adept Technology Edu
Daily x2 - Swift Action
Effect: The user gains Temporary HP equal to their Technology Education Rank doubled.
Alchemy
This will be a thing, with some sci-fi fluff. I won't put an Edge or Feature Tax on Alchemy, as recommended, but I do believe it takes time to learn how to do it, so your backstory should reflect that. In addition, a Weapons Lab is required. The military does own some that it can loan if you ask request access, and many more are spread throughout the Demesnes, so if you're lucky, you may stumble upon one in the wild.
Character Creation
A quick background on your organisation. The Knights work like special police forces, trained through simulations in the Dream World with a few excursions into reality. Only a few teams are ever deployed at a time to prevent multiple major losses, a lesson learnt from experience. TMs and Tutors are available, however tutoring takes time and effort which could be spent on other recruits that shine brighter. Hence such services run on something of a merit system; those who deliver the most, get the most. Internal competition drives all Knights new or not, despite them being relatively friendly with one another.
Your PC gains either the Elemental Connection or Mystic Senses Edge for free as well if they wish to have it (or another Edge they qualify for). This represents the high amount of supernaturals in the world, as well as my own desire to give everyone (including me with NPCs) more freedom to build characters as they like.
A quick quote from GoT on how Elementalism and other supernatural abilities can come into play. Obviously the part about Legendaries will be ignored. In addition to the examples there, in modern society it's not difficult to infuse Elemental Anima into a child at birth, or even prior to birth through Dream Tech.
We will be using the PTU Editation as well as all playtest packets and errata, except for the capture rules. You may use the core, Game of Throhs and Do Porygon Dream of Mareep splatbooks for character creation. The Blessed and Damned will play a large role in this campaign, but not at the start. While creating your characters, use the Updated Compilation Pokedex, and the Poipole Sheet found here.
Characters should be between the ages of 18 and 25.
Banned material: Warper and Glitch Bender classes.
Players start off at TL15, with one Pokemon at PL30. Trainers must have at least one combat class. This will be a high level campaign, and your PC is a trained special forces member, so this is reflected in character creation. When creating your PC, perhaps consider that the Invasion happened only ten years ago, and how it affected your character.
Players may start with any Pokemon that has at least one evolution and is not a pseudo Legendary. Starter Pokemon will receive one Inheritance Move learned at level 20.
Players receive 15000 Pyen budget at character creation to buy items with, anything not spent from this budget is returned to the government.
Recruitment will end on the 4th of January. If you have any questions, feel free to tag me in the discord channel for this game. Character sheets should be posted here.
The world of Anima’s End is influenced heavily by the 19 Anima, metaphysical forces that drive all creation, man, Pokemon and everything else. Being in constant flux due to the nature of this force, the only points of stability are human civilisation due to the very human spirit containing the 19th Anima known as the Origin or Creation Anima. This Anima is characterised by stability and growth, hence why humans all have similar physiques and grow physically at the same pace. It is the settlements and landmarks that are ingrained in the human mind through experience and stories that challenge the nature of the world they live in, by being constant fixtures.
The rest of the land however twists and contorts as if alive, which it is in a sense, being infused with the 18 Elemental Anima. Imagine a forest. A particularly ancient tree or tall rock outcropping covered in vines may become deeply embedded in the local human knowledge of the forest, thus becoming a consistent touchstone for travelers trying to find their way. The surrounding forest however will change, springs and creeks fading in and out of existence, large groves and clearings appearing at arbitrary points, and even small hills and valley growing from the ground. As long as the area remains in line with the characteristics of the Grass and Bug Anima which would dominate it, anything goes. The forest could even become a lush grassland. An area never changes in a way opposed to its latent Elemental Anima however.
Due to these ever changing lands, society was for the longest time unable to establish permanent contact through travel routes. In the year 100 B.U. (before unification) the emperors of the Valentine and Augustine Empires, a pair of psychic twin siblings who decided to go their own ways, leaving their village and conquering new civilisations, decided that if travel routes couldn’t be established, they would simply develop their empires until they touched one another directly. This was a plan for ages to come, and it was set into motion immediately, with homes, factories and other buildings being continuously built, until Valentine in the west, and Augustine in the east, finally touched one another a hundred years later, in the year 1 A.U. (after unification). The task had become a tradition at this point, inherited by each culture, even when the notion of ‘empires’ became outdated and democracy began to spread. In this time, technology advanced a lot.
Now the year is 513 A.U. and through rapid urbanisation, the great city of Endeavour has expanded far beyond its original scope, covering nearly a third of the planet of Anima's End. In this new age, technology has advanced even more. Robots, Cyborgs and AI exist, having made the process of expanding the city much easier. Cybernetics started out as medical technology, very prevalent due to the inherent dangers in nature, and eventually became more and more advanced, to the point that it could enrich the lives of healthy people.
Unfortunately, humanity didn’t consider the effect that this grand city had on the Anima. The Origin Anima began to overflow ten years ago, causing it to appear within creatures that were never supposed to have it; Pokemon. The affected Pokemon gained the King status with the ability to change environments with mere presence or thought, and they took great offense to humanity disrupting the Elemental Anima. The Invasion is the title given to the first attack of the Kings on Endeavour. It resulted in the Origin Anima being twisted and supplanted by their own dominating Elemental Anima. Parts of Endeavour became Demesnes, environments under control of Pokemon Kings which almost seem like alternate dimensions, but blend into normality.
Humanity became concentrated within the center of Endeavour. Over the ten years that have passed since then, it was found that as long as landmarks could be built, or identified and protected, a Demesne would recede, allowing humanity to reclaim parts of the city. In order to do just this, the Knights of Endeavour were formed, a special anti-King force whose members received the title of much honoured title of knight. Many of these Knights die in attempts to scout, let alone defeat the Kings. Even worse, there are reports of killed Kings coming back to create their Demesnes once more, as if they're immortal.
Despite knowing that you're fighting an uphill battle, you signed up to become Knights. Now you are part of a batch of rookie Knights, ready to take on the Demesnes and reclaim Endeavour bit by bit. Always remember who this city truly belongs to.

In addition to the examples there, in modern society it's not difficult to infuse Elemental Anima into a child at birth, or even prior to birth through Dream Tech.
"While most humans are purely of the Origin Anima, some may be born with an aspect of an Elemental Anima as well - which is represented in the system as the Elemental Connection Edge. Still others may have their spirit forcefully infused with an Elemental Anima through outside influence - blessings from Legendary Pokémon, accidents involving areas of high Elemental Anima concentration, and purposeful use of magic rituals are all ways this can happen. Elementalists, Psychics, Aura Guardians, and other supernatural abilities all result from this kind of spiritual blending. More ‘generic’ supernatural abilities that aren’t tied to a certain Type, such as Channeling can be explained as greater spiritual sensitivity, an awareness of the Elemental Anima and ability to manipulate it that most humans do not share. In settings written with this framework as a foundation, the occult is not some mysterious and esoteric art that few know of and understand. It is used on a daily basis, and most people would make use of simple rituals and “magic” just as ofen as they use “technology”. Apricorns are the frst and most widespread example of this, as it takes a simple magical ritual anyone can perform to unlock their latent potential and create Apricorn Balls out of them."
